IAR test
We will begin IAR testing this week! Students will take one math test per day on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday. The tests will begin first thing, so it is important that students arrive to school on time. If they are car riders or walkers, please try to get them to school by 7:30 a.m. so they have enough time to get breakfast. It is important that all Chromebooks are charged overnight and ready for testing. Please help us out by reminding your child to plug it in! Incentive snacks will be given out each afternoon to students who are in attendance with charged Chromebooks, try their hardest on each test, and have a positive attitude! Friday is the LAST day to order a copy of the 24/25 MMS yearbook through the Inter-State Studio website. Yearbooks will be handed out to students on the last day of school. Extra copies at the end of the year are not guaranteed, so please don't forget to order a copy before it's too late! Mr. Bates is collecting requested pet items for the Humane Society until March 31. All donated items can be turned into Mr. Bates or dropped off in the MMS office. This is an annual effort for us to help the local homeless animals through our Humane Society Drive. Thank you in advance for the donations! Go Hawks!

Mr. Bates will be collecting needed pet supplies and food items for our 4-legged friends at the Humane Society of Decatur. Items can be dropped off in his room between March 17 - 31. A flyer was sent home and emailed to students on Friday with a list of the items that are needed the most. This is a great opportunity for students to help the homeless animals of the area while also earning some Hawk Bucks! Questions can be emailed to Mr. Bates at batesm@meridianhawks.net. If you have a current 8th grader, don't forget that the 9th grade Academic Program is scheduled for Tuesday, March 18 at 6:30 p.m. in the auditorium. Students should plan to attend with at least one parent/guardian. Information will be provided about academic requirements of high school and course scheduling for next year. Students will begin IAR testing on March 25. Information and expectations for our testing at MMS will be provided during literature classes at the beginning of next week. Third quarter report cards will be provided to all students during study hall on Wednesday, March 19. If you have questions or concerns about your child's progress, please contact the individual teacher(s). There is no school on Friday, March 21. Scholastic Bowl - Thursday, March 20 at Meridian; 4:30 p.m. Go Hawks!
