Meridian Middle School would like to thank Krekel's Macon for their support of Meridian Athletics.

In a generous effort to support the Meridian Volleyball team, Krekel's donated an ice-cream cone to each student who rode the fan bus over to Sullivan to watch the Sectional Championship. The kids thought this was pretty cool.

Next time you are at Krekel's buying one of their famous cheeseburgers, be sure to say thanks for their support.

Thank you Krekel's!

Our student body showed up BIG tonight and did a fantastic job of cheering our team to victory. They did a great job of encouraging, being loud, and were unified behind our girls. We had the louder side of the gym by far and the girls knew it.

Thank you HAWK NATION for brining the support.

Words aren't enough to express the gratitude.

IAR testing will take place at MMS this week. All grade levels and students will test in both math and reading. A modified bell schedule will be followed so that students can attend each class daily. Testing will begin first thing each morning, so please make sure your child arrives at school no later than 7:40 a.m. so they have enough time to get to their testing location. Incentives will be given daily for students who have good attendance, effort, and attitude. All students must have a CHARGED Chromebook and a pair of wired earbuds (we have these for those who need them). Please check with your child each night to ensure their Chromebook is charging for testing days!

Good luck to our Lady Hawks when they play Toledo Cumberland in the Sectional volleyball tournament on Monday. If your child is interested in riding the fan bus, there is still time to get signed up! Please email Mr. Britton at brittonb@meridianhawks.net to sign up. WE ARE ENCOUARING EVERYONE TO WEAR THEIR HAWK GEAR TO SCHOOL ON MONDAY TO PUMP OUR GIRLS UP!!

Friday is the end of the 3rd quarter. Report cards will be provided to all students on Wednesday, March 18. Elective forms for next year will be electronically sent to current 6th and 7th grade students on Friday. The courses will be filled on a first-come basis and should be submitted no later than Friday, April 17. Information on electives offered at both both grade levels will be emailed to students and parents and can also be found on the MMS website.

The MMS Drama Club has been working hard to prepare for their upcoming performance of "Twice Upon a Time." The performances will take place in the auditorium on Friday and Saturday at 7:00 p.m. Tickets will be available to purchase at the door.

Ticket prices:
$4/adults

Well....this Meridian Hawk basketball player is back in the news again! The Illinois Basketball Coaches Association representatives held a meeting on March 5th and made their "All-State" selections. Meridian's very own Shelby Renfro made the All-State Special Mention Team!

This is a very elite group of basketball players that are included in the state of Illinois for 1A basketball.

Hawk Nation is very proud of Shelby and her achievement.

Great job Shelby Renfro...we are proud of you!

Our 7th grade girls got it DONE and we have 2026 Regional Volleyball hardware in our school!!

We defeated a very tough and competitive Sullivan team in 3 games. It was an intense game were we had to come back and win two, after losing the first match.

We now move to the Sectional in Sullivan on Monday at 6:00. An email will be going out shortly to gather interest in a fan bus.

Additionally, we need to recognize our very own Elizabeth Noland and Sullivan's Olivia Swinford for being chosen for the IESA Regional Sportsmanship award. This award recognizes positive attitudes and sportsmanship throughout the regional. Congratulations to both of these competing girls!

Students were treated to an assembly this afternoon that featured country music singer and songwriter, Josh Norrad! Through storytelling and his music, Josh shared with the students about finding purpose and direction after a life-altering accident. The students loved the assembly, and several walked away with Josh’s autograph. A big thank you to the Macon Piatt Regional Office and Marisa’s Purpose for providing today's student assembly!
