Our MMS open house is this Thursday for parents/guardians! Everyone will start in the auditorium at 6:45 p.m. for a brief welcome and overview. After, guests will be dismissed to their child’s 1st hour class to then follow the class schedule. Each class period will last 7 minutes. Printed schedules will be provided upon arrival.
This is a great opportunity to meet the classroom teachers, hear about what’s happening in the classroom, and briefly experience life in their shoes at MMS!
There will be a Washington DC informational meeting in the auditorium for parents/guardians of 8th graders interested in going on this year’s trip. Please email pekovitchb@meridianhawks.net with any questions.

We just didn't get the result we wanted, falling in a close game to Nokomis on 8th Grade Night.
But the result doesn't take away from the effort these girls gave tonight or everything they have put into Meridian Softball. We are proud of them and proud of the way they competed.

8TH GRADE NIGHT TONIGHT!
What a night for our MS Softball team! Last night, the girls picked up a big 12-0 win over WL!
Tonight, the Hawks are back in action as they take on Nokomis at 4:30 PM — and tonight is extra special because it’s 8th Grade Night!
We want to take a moment to recognize and celebrate our 8th graders for everything they have brought to Meridian Softball. We are proud of these girls and excited to celebrate them tonight!

Their community sponsorship helped make this project possible, and we are grateful for their continued investment in the health, wellness, and activities of our students.

Beginning Tuesday, August 25, the high school and middle school will begin dismissing school ten minutes earlier than normal. This change in format is being done in an effort to better accommodate transportation times to the Stonington campus and, in turn, alleviate later bus drop offs after school. Going forward, students will be dismissed from the high school and middle school at 2:20 pm on a regular day, 1:20 pm on a 1:30 dismissal day and 11:00 am on a half day of school. If you ride/pick up after school, please make sure to note the adjustment to these times. Thank you in advance!

We are still waiting to hear back from their officials, but right now, the plan is to play at 11:00 AM.

PE uniforms that were pre-ordered are being handed out to students during class today. There are extra t-shirts (in adult sizes) available to purchase in the office. There will be another opportunity to order additional sizes and items online soon!

Please note the update to our district cell phone policy - MMS Students will be “cell phone free” from AM bell to PM bell to focus on academic success and social development. If you need to get your child a message during the school day, please call the office and we will get the message delivered!
School kicks off for students on Tuesday, August 18 with a 1:30 p.m. dismissal. All students will receive a printed schedule in 1st hour.
