
Good afternoon, Hawk community. Tonight is round two of the IESA 7th grade Lady Hawk Volleyball Regionals as they travel to Monticello to take on the Clinton Maroons. The Match will start at 7:15 pm


Our students are continuing to work hard to meet IXL goals of gaining at least 10 points per month in both ELA and math! Congratulations to our top leaderboard performers during the month of February!!



Tomorrow - Wednesday, March 5 - is a 1:30 p.m. dismissal for school improvement. Study hall will be short, so please make sure transportation changes are made and communicated with your child prior to coming to school!

The 8th grade IESA Volleyball Regional bracket has been posted! The Lady Hawks will play Tolono Unity at Maroa Forsyth High School on Saturday, March 8 at 10:00 a.m. GO HAWKS!


This cast has been working incredibly hard to prepare for their upcoming musical. Make plans to attend one of next weekend's shows to support the Meridian Middle School Drama Club!

Have you ever considered becoming a substitute teacher? The Regional Office of Education is hosting a training on Thursday, February 27, from 3:00 - 4:00 for anyone who may be interested. See the attachment for more information.


Congratulations to these 8th graders for offering to help clean up after Friday's MJHS ceremony. While I know neither thought it was a big deal, they truly went above and beyond. Thanks to Jaxson & Corbin for helping out!!


Spring is right around the corner, so track season will be kicking off soon! If your child is interested in participating this year, please make plans to attend the parent information meeting tomorrow at 5:30 p.m. in the MMS gym. Questions can be emailed to one of the coaches! Go Hawks!


Thirty lucky students were randomly drawn on Friday to enjoy Casey's pizza on Tuesday of this week through this quarter's Hawk Buck raffle.
There will be a track meeting for parents on Tuesday at 5:30 p.m. in the MMS gym. If your child is planning to participate in track this year, please make plans to attend!
Students will have another opportunity to deposit Hawk Bucks during study hall on Friday. This is a great opportunity for them to keep Hawk Bucks safe until end-of-year activities!

The 7th grade IESA Volleyball Regional bracket has been posted! The Lady Hawks will play Johns Hill at Monticello Middle School on Saturday, March 1. Our game will begin 20 minutes after the 9:00 a.m. game concludes.
Good luck to both our 7th & 8th grade volleyball teams when they play in the Okaw Jr. High Conference tournament tomorrow! For the first round, the 7th grade team will play Warrensburg at Moulton Middle School (Shelbyville) at 9:00 a.m. 8th grade will play Clinton at Central A&M Middle School at 10:00 a.m.

We are looking forward to recognizing our 8th grade volleyball team and their parents between games TONIGHT! Help us PACK THE PLACE when the Lady Hawks take on Decatur Montessori. Come hungry because the Washington DC group will have walking tacos available to purchase and a 50/50 raffle to raise money for the upcoming trip. Don't forget that we DO have school tomorrow! We took Lincoln's Birthday off last week, so we are in attendance on President's Day. This week is FFA week. The Meridian-Macon FFA chapter has activities planned for the entire campus. Students can go on a daily duck hunt, guess the number of corn kernels in the jar, and will test their knowledge of Ag Trivia. In addition, there are also dress up days for everyone to participate in - Monday: Pajama Day Tuesday: Case (Red) vs. John Deere (Green) Wednesday: Sports/Jersey Day Thursday: FFA Shirt or Blue & Gold Friday: Flannel Friday Students will have the opportunity to sign up for another Casey's Pizza Hawk Bucks Raffle in core classrooms this week. If selected on Friday morning, the cost will be $50 Hawk Bucks and will include pizza & a Pepsi product of choice. The MJHS Induction ceremony will take place on Friday at 1:30 p.m. in the auditorium. 37 7th and 8th grade students will be inducted to join the current 15 members. Congratulations to both the current members and new inductees! The Student Council sponsored Valentine dance will take place on Friday from 7-9 p.m. in the MMS gym. This dance is for MMS students only. It is free to attend, but there will be concessions available for students.
