
It is hard to believe that the last day of the 24/25 school year is tomorrow! It is a 1:30 p.m. dismissal for the Macon Campus. We are looking forward to the end-of-year activities planned for the different grade levels!

The MMS & MHS chorus has an exciting opportunity to perform "Take Me Out to the Ballgame" before a Cardinals vs. Reds game this fall! Tickets to the September 17 game can be purchased at a discounted rate through the Meridian Music Boosters. We had 37 students meet their IXL goal of growing 10 points each month for the entire school year. As a reward, they enjoyed popcorn, cotton candy, & Moana 2 in the auditorium this morning!

The MMS awards will take place on Wednesday in the auditorium. 6th & 7th grade awards will begin at 5:30 p.m. The doors will open at 5:00 p.m. Emails were sent to students (and parents) invited to attend. The 8th grade awards will begin at 7:00 p.m. with doors opening at 6:30 p.m. All 8th graders are invited to attend.

A group of 8th grade FFA members attended the Middle School Agriculture Conference in Bloomington today. They have been busy preparing to compete in categories that include Agriculture Career Trivia, Agriculture Career Interviews, and an Impact of Agriculture Programs in Middle School presentation. Congratulations to all students on a great job!!

The South Macon Library has a couple fun upcoming events planned!



Addison M. was invited to attend and represent MMS at the Abe Lincoln Region Illinois Principals Association Student Recognition Breakfast in Springfield today. Students from the region were recognized for being outstanding leaders in the school and community.
As Student Council and MJHS president, Addison is an exceptional leader for her peers and the younger students at Meridian Middle School. She works hard in the classroom putting academics first and involves herself in various activities at school and in the community. Keep leading the way, Addison!




The 6th grade PE class got to watch Mr. O'Brien's high school robotics class battle today!


The Macon campus will dismiss at 1:30 p.m. tomorrow (Wednesday) for our final school improvement day of the school year! Students who qualified for the IAR enrichment incentive will enjoy participating in different stations planned by teachers. A schedule of our day is included!



This week is Teacher Appreciation week! We are so lucky to have some of the best teachers who are dedicated to helping our students succeed. Please thank your child's teachers for all they do for Meridian!
The Spring MMS & MHS music concerts are scheduled to take place this week in the auditorium. The band concert will begin at 2:30 p.m. today. The chorus concert is at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Both events are free and the community is welcome to attend!
The Hawk Bucks Casey's pizza luncheon for those selected will take place during the lunch periods on Tuesday.
Wednesday is a 1:30 p.m. dismissal for School Improvement. Students who qualified will enjoy IAR Enrichment stations for the day!
A group of 8th grade FFA students will head to the Middle School Agriculture Career Exploration Invitational Contest at Heartland Community College on Friday. Good luck to those students who will be participating in individual career interviews, group presentations on the impact of middle school agriculture, and career trivia!

The students have been working hard on IXL skill proficiency in math and ELA. To date, MMS students have answered 661,070 questions and have practiced 24,491 skills. They've become more proficient in 16,536 of the skills practiced and have mastered 8,199 skills. Incredible job!!
