Our amazing Blue Mound Fire Department hosted a buddy day for Pre-K. Kids were able to try on fire suits that were just their size, spray the hose, take a ride on the fire truck and have a snack while they were there. Fun was had by all! Thank you Blue Mound Fire Department!

Thank you to the Blue Mound Fire Department for letting the Meridian Prek come and visit the fire station today.

Homecoming All District Pep Assembly

We had a special visitor today! #pawprintministries #brutus

The rain dampened our evening just a bit, but we still had fun at our PreK family weenie roast! We roasted hot dogs and s’mores, played some fall games, went on hikes up the mound, and most importantly, enjoyed time with our own families and others!

Mrs. Cocagne's first graders are busy working on doubles and doubles plus one. We are practicing building our stacks and using our "bridges" to find the sum!

Hope to see all those “Little Hawks” out there at our Tuesday playgroup! Babies and kiddos up to 5 years old and their parents or adult caregivers are welcome at 8:00am, 10:30am, or 12:15pm! Room 150 at MES.

Thank you to the Blue Mound Fire Department for a great presentation for Fire Safety Day!

Thank You BMFD for teaching us about fire safety!

Today, 3rd grade had the pleasure of having Mr. Stevens, a Decatur firefighter, come in and talk with us. He spoke about what a typical day of a fire fighter looks like. In addition, he brought his uniform in to educate the importance each piece serves in protecting him. It was a great way to prepare us for our fire safety talk happening later this week!

Fifth Grade has embarked upon a Cardboard Challenge (Inspired by Caine’s Arcade). Be sure to check back for the news article accompanied by a video explaining the details.

2019 Walk-a-thon — Mrs. Getz and Mr. Snively’s Class

Second graders loved the walkathon!

In light of Friday’s tragedy in Sullivan, many schools are showing their support for the student’s family by wearing blue tomorrow, which was Tyson's favorite color. Meridian District would like to join this support by asking students and staff to wear blue to school tomorrow.

Thank you to The Hawk and Jesse for sharing their time with us during our Walk-A-Thon!
