Due to school closing we were unable to hold family night to show off all our wonderful student art. However I will be posting pictures of our displays for everyone to see. Let's start with Kindergarten!!!

A HUGE “Thank You!” to Krekels in Macon for the donation of food they donated during Meridian Elementary’s Grab & Go Lunches.
Krekels in Macon will serve any mode of transportation, whether it be car, bike, or feet at their drive- thru! Meridian Elementary loves our Krekels!

Come see us at Meridian Elementary for your Grab & Go!

Our cooks are busy preparing grab and go lunches. Thank you Carolyn, Paula, Brenda & Marsha!!

We will try to reschedule Spring pictures when we return to school.

A Grab and Go lunch will be provided tomorrow for school age children (snack provided for pre-k ages) as stated in tonight’s message from Mr. Pygott. Pull up to the entry of either MMS or MES between 11:15-12:30 for a sack lunch. An adult worker will meet you at your car to find out how many lunches are needed.
Starting Wednesday, we will also have 2 satellite locations with meals available. A bus will be parked at the office in Hyde Park and at the Post Office in Boody from 11:15-12:30 to best provide these lunches to our kids who do not live in Macon or Blue Mound. If you are interested in participating, we encourage you to call the office to let us know. We will, however, have plenty of lunches prepared, so this is not a requirement.
*These meals will only be provided on days students should be in attendance at school.

Students today were sent home eLearning packets and eLearning plans were emailed and Dojoed home to all families. If your student was absent today, packets may be picked up at the school Tues. - Thurs. from 8-1 this week. We will get through this together - #We Are Meridian!

Due to school closing, we will not be holding our bookfair. We are not able to reschedule it this school year. We are so sorry.

Governor Pritzker and the State Superintendent of Schools announced that Illinois public schools will be closed from Tuesday March 17- Monday March 30. More information will follow for our E-Learning plans and extra curricular activities. Stay safe & healthy!

Monday, March 16 will be an early dismissal day for Meridian students (11:10 -Macon/11:30- Blue Mound). Students will be asked to take school materials home and directions will be provided for e-learning options..

A big Thank you to everyone who participated in our school mall fundraiser. Your help of filling out address cards resulted in us raising $1,439.93 for the school & $6,210.00 in gift cards to our teachers. This helps our teachers to buy supplies and fund activities for our kids.

Thank you First National Bank of Blue Mound for teaching us the many jobs and services you offer.

Spring Picture Day is 03/24/2020! No order is due now. Picture Flyers to order, will be sent home 10-14 days after pictures. Time to start thinking about the outfit! Tip: Solid colors or patterns look best. Try to avoid green, white and shirts with graphics.

Best Day Ever! First Grade celebrated the end of Bookworm with prizes, certificates and PIZZA. The First Grade Bookworms read a total of 10,440 books in the month of February.

Meridian Preschool Screening
Meridian School District will hold preschool screenings for the 2020-2021 school year on March 26th & March 27th. If you live in the Meridian school district and have a child who will be 3 or 4 years of age by September 1st, 2020, they are eligible to be screened for this free program. Screening will take place at Meridian Elementary School located at 509 Lewis St. in Blue Mound. Screening appointments begin at 8:00 a.m. Children are tested on concepts, motor skills, and language skills. Parents will bring required documents and fill out pre-k paperwork while children are being tested. You may set up an appointment starting March 9th by calling the Meridian Elementary School office at 692-2535.
Screening does not guarantee a spot in the program.
If your child is already enrolled in pre-k, they will not need to be rescreened.
