The MHS Homecoming Parade will take place tomorrow evening - Wednesday, September 13. The parade will leave the Macon campus at 6:00 p.m. and will head north on Wall Street. The parade will then turn left on Cole Street and left on Front Street before returning to the high school. We hope to see you there!
Each week, we will randomly select and present a Hawk Proud award to a student who is caught doing a good deed around MMS. We are proud to recognize Mason C. as our first Hawk Proud recipient! Our cafeteria got a facelift today when our new lunch tables were delivered. Believe it or not, I think some of the kids were disappointed they have to wait until Tuesday to use them!

We are excited to welcome two new teachers to MMS this year! Miss Herbert is our new special education teacher. She is also the assistant coach to the girls' basketball team. We are also excited to have Mr. Anderson at the Macon campus this year teaching 7-12 chorus and 6th grade music appreciation. If you see these two around campus, make sure to welcome them!!

Coach Allen & Coach Herbert met with middle school girls during study hall today to discuss the upcoming season. Tryouts are scheduled to begin on Monday from 3-5 p.m. Don't forget that those interested in trying out should have an up-to-date physical (within the calendar year) and should register on 8to18. Because of the extreme heat warning, we have rescheduled Thursday's conference baseball & softball games to keep our athletes safe.
Softball will play at Argenta Oreana on Tuesday, August 29 at 4:30 p.m. This will replace the Okaw Valley game.
Baseball will play Argenta Oreana at home on Monday, September 11 at 4:15 p.m. This will replace the Dennis game.

Twas the night before school and all through the district, little Hawks were stirring to ready for bed. In hopes that the school bus to their home soon would be led.
The parents were elated, all giddy with joy. With visions of quiet homes that soon would deploy.
All the teachers and school staff were ready for what awaits, with promise that a great school year will be their fate.
When in the morning there rose such a clatter, moms and dads arose to see what's the matter. When what did their wondering eyes did appear, but little boys and girls dressed all in Hawks gear. The kiddos were excited, the parents delighted.
Finally, the first day of school was here!

Hawk Update for 8/22:
Because of the extreme heat warning, tonight's softball game against Nokomis has been canceled. In addition, the baseball game against DMAP has also been canceled. Thursday's games against Argenta have been pushed back to a 6:00 p.m. start. Any additional changes will be communicated as soon as possible. Thanks and Go Hawks!
Due to the heat warning, Monday's softball (home) and baseball (away) games against Maroa Forsyth have been moved back to a 6:00 p.m. start time. We will not play any B innings. Please make sure your athlete brings water to the game and stays hydrated throughout the day. Additional changes to games scheduled this week will be communicated as they are confirmed.
