We practiced how to crawl under the smoke, how to stop, drop and roll and had a fun visit to the fire station! We learned songs about firefighters and did several other activities in the classroom as well! Thank you to the Blue Mound Fire Department for allowing us to finish up our fire safety unit with all of you at the firehouse!

MES Pre-K took a trip to the Blue Mound Fire Department this morning! BMFD was kind enough to allow the students to spray the hose, ride in a fire truck, put on a firefighter outfit and explore the ambulance. We had a wonderful time! Thank you BMFD for hosting us.

Little Hawks will be hosting Playgroup next Tuesday, October 12, at 8:00 AM at the old elementary school (100 E Lincoln St. Blue Mound, IL 62513). If you would like to RSVP to Playgroup please join the Little Hawks Facebook Page!

Hello everyone! I just wanted to introduce myself and tell you about our Little Hawks Program! I'm Lindsay and I am the Pre-K Parent Coordinator. Little Hawks is a program designed to serve our Meridian School District families with little ones ages 0-3. We are a resource to help prepare children for Pre-K as well as educate parents on various topics ranging from behavior, nutrition, promoting literacy, health and safety, etc. We offer weekly playgroups to encourage social skills as well as monthly night events. If you would like to be a part of the Little Hawks community, please join our Little Hawks Facebook group! This is a great place to get your questions answered and keep up with all of the fun activities we have planned for the 2021-22 school year. I look forward to meeting you!
