Our Little Hawks playgroup read the story “When Will It Snow?” By Marty Crisp, practiced fine motor skills using a q-tip to paint snowflakes, sang the song 5 Little Snowmen, made a snowman in the gym and enjoyed running around with the pieces!!
Mrs. Perrey’s art class came over and worked with Ms. Merano’s kindergarten on Monster art!

For our last Little Hawks playgroup before break, we read Little Blue Truck's Christmas, jingled bells, made a Christmas tree craft, and did reindeer training in the gym!! The afternoon Pre-K class got to join the 2nd graders in PE class for making a snowman after they practiced their Christmas songs in the gym!!
While the morning Pre-K class was practicing their Christmas songs in the foyer, Coach S invited them into the gym to make snowmen with the 5th graders! Impromptu fun for all!!
First graders had fun using paint to review sight words!
Fourth Grade Readers have read several stories about food. We read about growing food in city gardens, hot peppers, comfort foods, and this week about the process of making maple syrup. We celebrated by eating pancakes with our favorite maple syrup.
Our Little Hawks have been enjoying playgroup the past few weeks with their How to Catch an Elf and Gingerbread Friends books, crafts, dancing, and toddler-friendly snowball fights! Our last playgroup before holiday break will be next Thursday the 15th at the Blue Mound Community Center from 9:30-10:30am!
Please join us for our MES K-2 Christmas Concert tonight 12/7 @ 6:30 in Macon at the HS gym!!

PreK had a wonderful Buddy Day last week full of games, crafts, and a create-your-own turkey snack!
