There was a mistake on the original schedule for this week for a soccer match location. Here is the updated schedule.

The softball team traveled down to Pana yesterday to play in a triangular. The team continues to keep the pedal down as they improve their record to 10-3.
Some big news came out of yesterday's games as Shelby Renfro broke the record for HS career hits. The old record was 188 and now Shelby is sitting at 190. She still has more than 20 games left to play.
Great job Shelby on your outstanding accomplishment!
We are proud of you!
Keep it up!!

Here is this week's athletic schedule for the HS.

MHS/MMS has a couple of coaching opportunities for next school year.

The weather man is saying game time should be right at 78 degrees and mostly sunny.
Mix that in with a burger and popcorn while the Hawks softball and baseball teams take on the Cardinals of WL...and you have yourself a perfect evening.
It's the battle of the birds and CIC baseball/softball.
Come on out to the Meridian campus Hawk Nation.
Game time for both softball and baseball is 4:30.
Bring a crowd!

It has been hard to keep up with all the Spring action here at Meridian. Wanted to take a quick moment to summarize the last few days of Hawks softball, baseball, soccer, and track. Below are just some of the highlights.
The baseball team is off to a hot start this season starting off the year 3-0. The offense has been dominate scoring 46 runs and only giving up 7 so far. The discrepant runs scored vs runs allowed is directly connected to strong pitching and a variety of ways to score runs as a team. It has been a team effort for the baseball squad, but the team was bolstered with strong pitching from Grady Stock last Thursday as he threw a complete game shutout against Cerro Gordo. Danny Enlow pitched 3 innings without giving up a hit on Saturday against Unity Christian.
The Softball team is also off to a great start as they won both games on Saturday in a Triangular in Casey. This makes them 2-0 as we begin the season. Both games were gritted out as the girls won by one run in each game. In the game vs Charleston Ashley Schelling recorded 9ks while in the circle. Morgan Knierim racked up 5 hits while Shelby Renfro gathered 4. Great effort girls!
The soccer team is 1-1. Last night, Grace Moyer knocked in a goal as time was beginning to wind down to win 1-0 in a close and highly competitive match.
In the track and field world, Drew Smithers is currently sitting with a rank of 23rd in the state of Illinois for indoor long jump. Great job Drew....keep it up!
