Who would like to win up to $500 in Walmart gift cards? Meridian HS Band and Choir students will be running a "Donate-A-Day" fundraising drive as they continue to raise money for our upcoming performance at Universal Orlando! Throughout all of August, students will have a digital calendar and will be seeking donors to fill their calendar! Here's how it works...

Starting August 1st-31st, students will be reaching out in-person or by text, email, or social media to give the amount matching the day on the calendar . For example. August 10th- $10 donation. Anyone who is willing to donate can give on the current day, can donate to any day, and can donate to multiple days. And there is a really good reason to donate to multiple days. Please see the link below to access all of our students' calendars and make a donation!

Ten donors who give to our students will be selected in a drawing on Friday, Sept 4th and can win up to $500 in Walmart gift cards! See rules on flyer.
Any band/choir student or parent is welcome to participate and create a calendar. Please reach out to Mr. Anderson or Dr Raymond with any questions!

Scan the QR or click this link to create your calendar: https://app.teamfi.works/sign_up/2ae9e19a1bcd

Our food service staff started a four day scratch cooking training today with the Sustainable Food Institute. They did a phenomenal job with the first day's menu! Spaghetti with scratch made meat sauce, house made alfredo, roasted zucchini and green beans, fruit, salad with house made dressings, and a peach crisp that was to die for. As we are rolling this out, our goal is to transition from frozen heat and serve foods to locally sourced scratch made fresh foods.

Hawk Nation,

As we continue through the Summer, please be mindful of scheduling your sports physicals.

If you are still in need of a physical, the next walk-in opportunity will be held at CAM HS on July 14th from 2:00–4:00 PM.

Reminder: Sports physicals are valid for most middle school and high school students. However, students entering 6th grade and students entering their Freshman year must have a school physical completed through their primary healthcare provider.

Please plan accordingly as we get closer to the start of the fall season.

Go Hawks!

With last night's devastating event, I can't say enough about this community! In less than 24 hours, we were able to clean up a large portion of the debris outside and the water inside. Damage to the school is significant, but efforts are currently underway to make the building water tight so there is no further damage. Moving forward we are working with the architect and insurance company to determine the scope of work that will be necessary to bring back all of the building systems that have been affected. Once we have the full scope of work required, we will be able to plan for what the start of the school year looks like. Meridian (and surrounding communities) thank you for your help with this devastating event.

MESSAGE FOR TOMORROW (THURSDAY, JUNE 18TH).
3 months ago, Brian Britton
BB
Below is a message from Coach Miller for his track team. After the message you will find a link that will take you to a google form if you are interested in Throwing Wednesdays.

Throwing Wednesday: Mini Meet Day

Every Wednesday, our throwers step into a competitive environment designed to help them improve under pressure. Throwing Wednesday will consist of a series of mini meets focused on both shot put and discus. Athletes will have the opportunity to compete against teammates in a structured meet format that mirrors real competition conditions.

The goal is to build confidence, improve consistency, and develop the mental focus needed for success on meet day. Throwers will go through warm-ups, receive their attempts in each event, and learn how to manage competition routines while striving for personal bests.

Points, rankings, and season-best performances will be tracked throughout the month of July, creating friendly competition and encouraging continuous improvement. Whether an athlete is aiming to refine technique, increase distance, or prepare for upcoming meets, Throwing Wednesday provides a fun and challenging atmosphere where every throw counts.

By combining skill development with competition, Throwing Wednesday helps turn practice into performance and prepares our throwers to excel when it matters most.

Well...the incredible ride of this softball season has come to an end.

Tonight, our girls battled in a hard-fought game, falling 2-0 to a very talented Gardner team. At this stage of the postseason, every opponent is strong, and our girls proved they belong among them.

To our players, thank you for the unforgettable moments this season. Your competitive spirit helped shape and strengthen the Meridian softball culture. You have set a new standard of excellence by accomplishing something no previous softball team has done, winning a sectional and advancing to the Super-Sectional. Future Meridian players were watching, and they will remember this run.

Hawk Nation, thank you for showing up in full force. Your support throughout the postseason, and especially tonight, brought incredible energy, pride, and unity to our community.

Coach Streeval, thank you for everything you have given to Meridian softball. Over 28 years, you have taught us that determination, preparation, and consistency are the foundations of success. More importantly, you have built a program and culture that will last well beyond your time on the field. We are grateful for the impact you have made and will continue striving to uphold the standard you have set.

Enjoy your retirement, Coach. You have earned it and Meridian is better because of you.

The standard has been raised AND the future is bright!

It's a great day to be a Hawk!

Hawk Nation, below are some reminders that we received from IWU in regards to tomorrow's Super Sectional.

* Please remind your families and fans that all tickets need to be purchased in advance via the Go Fan website, just like all other IHSA rounds.

* Lastly, we were asked by IHSA to host both a 1A Super-Sectional at 4 pm and then a 4A Super-Sectional at 6:30 pm, so we will need you administrative team's assistance with the following:

* Please make sure your fans are aware there is another game being played after your game. Any official team photograph on the field should be organized and executed as quickly as possible. Then there will be a designated gathering space in front of the hitting/pitching pavilion where fans and players can take individual photos with the trophy, etc.

* Please make sure your teams clear out of the dugout areas as quickly as possible so the other teams for the second game can move in.
