Both the softball and baseball teams are off to a hot start. Each team is sitting on 6-1 records.
Our soccer team is off to a 4-1 start.
Great job kids! Keep it up!!
It is a great day to be a HAWK!

Meridian athletics earned the trifecta last night! Softball, baseball, and soccer were all victorious in Tuesday night's matchups on the Meridian campus.
It's a great day to be a HAWK!

Meridian grad, Roy Ralston, was recently named MWC Pitcher of the Week. Roy is in his Junior year at Monmouth College and a few weeks ago hit the milestone of 100 career strikeouts!
Meridian is super proud of this 2023 grad.
Great job Roy! Keep up the fantastic work!

The baseball team is off to a hot start this season starting off the year 3-0. The offense has been dominate scoring 46 runs and only giving up 7 so far. The discrepant runs scored vs runs allowed is directly connected to strong pitching and a variety of ways to score runs as a team. It has been a team effort for the baseball squad, but the team was bolstered with strong pitching from Grady Stock last Thursday as he threw a complete game shutout against Cerro Gordo. Danny Enlow pitched 3 innings without giving up a hit on Saturday against Unity Christian.
The Softball team is also off to a great start as they won both games on Saturday in a Triangular in Casey. This makes them 2-0 as we begin the season. Both games were gritted out as the girls won by one run in each game. In the game vs Charleston Ashley Schelling recorded 9ks while in the circle. Morgan Knierim racked up 5 hits while Shelby Renfro gathered 4. Great effort girls!
The soccer team is 1-1. Last night, Grace Moyer knocked in a goal as time was beginning to wind down to win 1-0 in a close and highly competitive match.
In the track and field world, Drew Smithers is currently sitting with a rank of 23rd in the state of Illinois for indoor long jump. Great job Drew....keep it up!

Season opener starts tonight at 4:30.
See you there!!

We have two returning players who made some great contributions last year.
Molly Burgess ended the year with a recognition of 1st Team All-Sectional award.
Sophia Lehman earned All-Sectional Honorable Mention.
Good luck to these girls and the rest of the team as we tackle the Spring soccer schedule.
Their next home game is on March 24th vs Springfield Lutheran @ 4:30.
Good luck soccer team!!
