Last night our gym was filled with loyal and supportive fans cheering on our MMS girls' basketball team. The 7th and 8th grade both won hard fought games against Pana. We are so proud of them!

Special shout out to our rowdy MS and HS boys as they let our girls' team know they could be counted on as loud voices of support. Keep it up boys!

Another special shout out to Shelby Renfro and Julia Meisenhelter for being the refs for our 6th grade team. They are great role models for our younger players as they demonstrated acts of service and leadership for our program. Thank you girls!

The Meridian School District would like to thank Blackland Transport and Kraft Family Grain for sponsoring our September athletic attendance event drawing. We also want to thank all students (and the rest of Hawk Nation) who showed support this month.

Students who attended any Meridian home game had an opportunity to write their name on a ticket and turn it in for a chance to win at the end of September. Every game attended meant more chances.

We were able to draw 4 winners from each school. Each winner won a $25 Amazon gift card.

This Month's winners are: Adaline M., Azaylea J., Mack G., Macklin W., Hudson N., McKenna J., Bella D., Javen A., Jordin O., Bella D., Lucas R., and Hanna S.

We will continue our athletic attendance drawing for October. Stay tuned for our new sponsor.

Remember the more you attend games....the better your chances. Good luck and go Hawks!

The City of Macon is applying for a federal Safe Routes to Schools grant worth up to $250,000. If successful, grant funds will be used for upgrades to sidewalks throughout Macon. We need your help to gather the necessary information to include with the grant submission. All are encouraged to complete the survey as sidewalks are used for more than just getting to and from school. At times staff members take students off campus for various reasons, so ultimately all of our students will most likely benefit from the City successfully receiving this grant.

Please take a few moments to complete this survey. If you have more than one child, a submission for each student is encouraged.

Our golf team finished their regular season schedule tonight verses CAM.

With it being the last regular season contest we were able to recognize our 3 senior golf members; Cierra Bliesner, Ashton Hawbaker, and Wade Julius.

They each had a great season and we wish them luck next week in the regional.

If ordering in person, look for the student council members taking orders at lunch. If ordering online, use the link provided in the Mr Stielow's email.

Pink Night was created as a way to honor and celebrate the heroic fight against breast cancer. Tomorrow's match is dedicated to all the men and women who have been touched by breast cancer with the hopes that this devastating disease will one day be cured. The volleyball teams from Meridian and Central A&M have worked together to bring you this event. Hope to see you tomorrow night!

We were able to catch Mr. Anderson's choir class making final preparations for their big debut in Busch Stadium during tomorrow's Cardinals game. This group will be performing "Take Me Out to the Ballgame" during the 7th inning stretch. We are proud of these kids and excited for them to represent Meridian.

Tomorrow, the Cardinals take on the Reds at 12:15.
