Friday Night Lights! 10/16/20 @6pm. MHS football will host an intra-squad 7 on 7 in accordance with current IHSA guidelines. Booster Club concessions and hamburgers/hot dogs by Music Boosters will be available. All IDPH guidelines are to be strictly followed- masks if distancing cannot be maintained and no large congregated groupings. Bring a chair, if needed, as the bleachers will not be available to use.

Oct 1-Dec 31 ALL Meridian students can get free breakfast/lunch per our waiver extension. Lunch count will still be taken and students will still have to pay for extra items. However, no accounts will be charged for regular breakfast or lunch!
Meridian will begin full remote tomorrow for the next two weeks. Students need to check classroom tomorrow and their emails. A remote schedule will be released tomorrow. Building open 8-3 tomorrow for pick up of items.

Today is Teacher Appreciation Day and I am proud to say the staff at MHS is top notch. Thank you for working hard for our students, no matter the circumstances.
Today I am proud to recognize two young ladies who were selected as MHS honorees for the Central Illinois Conference Student Recognition. Jesse Damery and Alexandra Martin have both embodied the spirit of academic achievement and athletic participation our conference promotes in student athletes.
Jesse is the daughter of Brian and Mindy Damery. Jesse has been involved in volleyball and softball during her 4 years. On the softball field, Jesse has earned all county, all conference and all state honors. Jesse is co-valedictorian of the senior class and has been an active member of NHS, Student Council and SADD. Jesse will attend the U of I in the fall and will play softball for the Illini. Alexandra Martin is the daughter of Angie Carmean and Jeff Martin. She has played volleyball, soccer and has been a cheerleader for four years and has also been active in National Honor Society, SADD and Student Council. Alexandra will attend Indiana State University in the fall as part of their honors program.
Girls- I am so proud of you and all you have done for Meridian. I am sorry I won’t be able to solve all of your issues at lunch any longer but, hopefully, I gave you some sage advice to take with you!

Today Ella Snow and Madeline Klinger would have been recognized at the Macon County Principal’s Student Recognition lunch. Both of these young ladies are at the top of their class and are a vital part of Meridian High School. Ella’s activities include cheer, NHS, SADD, and she’s an Illinois State Scholar. Ella will attend EIU in the fall. Madeline’s activities include basketball, soccer, NHS, co-valedictorian and an Illinois State Scholar. Madeline will attend Millikin. Congrats girls! I know I promised you lunch with me but this is the best I can do right now!
