Weeks ago I had changed out the bulletin board with new beautiful art work in hopes that we would be returning to see the awesome job 5th grade had done on their latest art project. I had no idea it would be their last project with me. So in honor of these wonderful students graduating on to the middle school next year I would love to share their zentangle watercolor salt wash projects. 💚 Mrs. Hadowsky

Today 5th grade will be the final grade of MES art show work. They have worked very hard this year learning how to use value and shading in their art to create depth and space. First they learned how to use the special shading tools to shade a sphere. Next they used those skills with colored pencils to blend colors. The final project was to use those skills to create a perspective landscape in a similar style to the American artist Grant Wood.

Good afternoon Meridian Hawks! Today, Governor Pritzger reported that he will extend the mandated school closure through April 30th with remote learning in place. Mr. Pygott sent an email earlier today with a Q&A letter in regards to remote learning and our current situation. If you did not receive this, please let me know. For MES, remote learning will not look different from what you have been experiencing since March 17th. Your child's teacher will be sending out updated remote learning plans for the weeks ahead and we will continue to provide points for completion. Plans will also be posted on each teachers website through Meridianhawks.net. As we are all getting used to a new reality, I understand that each family is facing a variety of challenges and that remote learning is just one of those challenges at this time.. While your child may struggle with less guidance from the teachers, I believe they will still learn and grow from this experience. I told this to our teachers the other day, it is OK to not have all the answers. We don't either at this time, and that is just fine. Please email or dojo the teacher and/or myself with any questions or concerns through this process. Our primary goal is to maintain our positive relationships and connections with students and families, along with keeping everyone safe. We are hopeful that students will continue to learn through this time as well. We are going to be flexible and understanding with all students and families, and we are grateful for your flexibility and understanding as well. Together, we will get through this!!

A tessellation is a continuous pattern with no gaps or spaces. The 4th grade students created their own pattern and used their imagination to change the shape into a person, object or animal.
