Our first Little Hawks Home Visits took place today and the kiddos had a great time! We read 'The Color Monster' by Anna Llenas then the children got to help The Color Monster sort his 'feelings'. The future of MES is looking bright! :)
MES lunch menu change - Monday, Jan. 10th we will be serving cheese pizza instead of the garlic cheese bread. Everything else will stay the same.
Friday, January 14th will be an 11:30 dismissal. The district calendar listing that was provided at the beginning of the school year failed to include Friday, January 14 as an In-Service Day (11:10 dismissal for HS/MS & 11:30 dismissal for MES). We apologize for the error and any inconvenience this may cause.
Little Hawks is hosting Parent Ed Night January 25th from 5:30-7:00 PM at the Elementary School! The topic will be speech and the speaker is Jill Chlebus. Attendees will have have the opportunity to enter a raffle for a $100 Decatur Park District Gift Certificate at the end of the school year.

Grinch Day in Kindergarten!
Little Hawks Playgroup is back tomorrow morning (12/07) at 8:00 AM at the Pleasantview Township Community Center in Blue Mound! (Our usual location). I'm thrilled to announce we will now have a sub for Playgroup in the event that I am unable to attend. We look forward to seeing you tomorrow!
Today, Fifth Grade Students completed a , “Snowman Stretch STEM Challenge.” The criteria was that the “snowman” must be as tall as possible, free standing, built in 30 minutes, and no more than three layers.

Meridian Pre-k enjoyed our buddy day with a visit from Heartland Mini Hoofs. We learned what therapy horses do and how they help so many people. Our students were able to pet them and then make their own stick horse to ride in the gym. We would like to give a special thanks to Heartland Mini Hoofs for coming today, as well as Kara Morey and Dani Noland for donating the sticks to make our horses!
