Today in Little Hawks we read the story Splat the Cat and the Pumpkin-Picking Plan, we saw how many pumpkins tall we were, balanced some balls on spoons as we dropped them into pumpkin buckets, found our perfect pumpkins that matched our shape game, painted a picture of a pumpkin inside of a baggy for a mess-free craft, and ran to different pumpkins in the gym while trying to identify the letters on them! 🎃 To find out more about our playgroups, join our group page - www.facebook.com/groups/littlehawks15/ . Next week, we will be visiting Pumpkin Creek Farms!

Reminder, Thursday, October 6th is Little Hawks at 9:30am at the Community Center in Blue Mound (the corner of Lewis St. and Lincoln St.). We will do our butterfly lesson that we had planned but I do not believe we will have butterflies to go see at Mrs. Edwards's house. We will talk about the life cycle of a butterfly through a story, song, snack, and have some time to run and play in the gym! Little Hawks will meet every Thursday in October at 9:30am at the Community Center, however October 20th they will visit Pumpkin Creek Farms at 10am, which is the same day as the pre-k field trip!

We will meet back at Wise Park for a snack and if you want, you can pack a sack lunch to go along with it. Today for Little Hawks we read the book Mind Your Manners about misbehaving animals learning how to be polite to make the world a better place! We also traced our hands to make a bee craft to help us remember to “Be Kind! Be Polite and Be A Good Friend!” I think our favorite part might have been jumping around to our songs and running around/acting out different animal moves in the gym!!
