Miss Stewart’s class had their first “Secret Scientist” teach a lesson on apple oxidation! While waiting to see the apple’s reaction to air, water, milk, and lemon, students got to enjoy an apple “donut.”

PreK went to Okaw Valley Orchard today and had an educational tour, saw how the apple cider gets made, visited the bee observation hive, and learned how the apples get packed!! 🍏🍎

Walk-A-Thon 2023










The pep rally was awesome, the games were a blast, and the tug of war was intense! Over 1,000 voices all cheering M-E-R-I-D-I-A-N!!!







Little Hawks had a beautiful day to spend at Scovill Zoo!!










Fourth grade students have been reading about advantages and disadvantages of technology. Today we discussed whether or not cell phones should be allowed in classrooms.

Third grade made place value donuts to continue our work with place value, rounding, and addition!🍩









Third grade has been studying plants in science this week, learning about pollination, parts of plants, seeds and seed dispersal, and selection with some hands-on activities.








In Mrs. Hadowsky's art class kindergartners have been learning how to create patterns. They decorated their name folders using patterns.





Kindergarten has been having color days. Today was rainbow day. Mrs. Guebert read A Rainbow of my Own book to the classes. Her rainbow hair was very silly!!

A huge Hawk thank you to everyone for your Walk-A-Thon donations. Today we collected $16, 648. Our winning class, with donations totaling $1, 817, is Mrs. Meisenhelter's 5th grade class. Great job everyone!! We will hold our Walk-A-Thon next Friday at 8:15am. All students and staff will receive a free Meridian t-shirt. If you would still like to donate, we will keep our online link open or you may send your donation into the school by next Friday. Thank you again for everyone's support!

Mrs. Trimble's class had a virtual visit from a past student. We enjoyed listening to a book and checking in with Matt Parker via Zoom while he is away at school.


Mr. Snively's class played "Eat or Be Eaten" in science class today. In this game, students develop their thinking about predator/prey relationships between living things by creating food chains. The goal is to make the longest food chain!





Mrs. Getz's kindergartners went on a safari zebra hunt today.






3rd graders took a walk to identify parts of a plant and pollinators.
