2026 MERIDIAN HOMECOMING!
What a day to be a Hawk!
Our Homecoming morning kicked off with our 8:00 AM Hawk Nation Student Tailgate Breakfast, where students gathered for some food, music, and fun before cheering on our football team.
From our Couch Club bringing the energy, to our student-created broadcast crew calling the action, to Hawk Nation filling the stands and cheering on our undefeated team, the Homecoming atmosphere was something special!
A special shoutout to all of our students who helped make today memorable, including our 2026 Homecoming Court!

We even had our own broadcast crew at Homecoming today! A few of our students took it upon themselves to create their own sideline announcing crew and bring a little extra excitement to an already unforgettable Saturday.
Love seeing our students take initiative, have fun, and find their own ways to support our Hawks!

What a Saturday at Meridian! Our football boys battled their way to a 44-40 Homecoming victory over a very good Pawnee team, keeping our undefeated season rolling at 7-0!
A beautiful day, a great Homecoming atmosphere, and a game that had a little bit of everything. It was a back-and-forth battle right down to the wire, and exactly the kind of Saturday football game you hope for.
A huge thank you to all of our community members, students, families, and alumni who stepped up and got loud to support our boys. The energy around our football program and our school was something special today. This is what Hawk Nation is all about!
Our team continues to show tremendous heart, resilience, and determination. We are proud of the way these guys continue to compete and represent our school.
The job isn't finished!
Next up, we travel to Martinsville for a Saturday night matchup at 6:00 PM. Let's keep this thing rolling!

What a week it has been at Meridian! From Boys Volleyball and Powder Puff to our Homecoming Assembly filled with games, laughter, and school spirit, our students have made this week one to remember.
Tonight, we want to take that spirit beyond the school walls and into our community!
We are calling on all of Meridian to come out and line the streets for our Homecoming Parade tonight at 5:30 PM!
The parade will be escorted out of the school by our community first responders, travel down Wall Street, turn at Whit's End onto Front Street, then turn onto Glenn Street before heading back to Wall Street and finishing at the school.
Our fall athletes, students, coaches, and organizations will be out celebrating, and we want them to see the community that stands behind them.
Tomorrow, our football team takes on Pawnee at 11:00 AM. Our students have planned a Homecoming Tailgate Breakfast, and the day will continue with football, friends, and the Homecoming Dance.
But first, let's show our kids what it means to be part of Meridian.
You don't have to be a parent, an athlete, or even have a student in school to be part of this. This is OUR community, and our kids deserve to see us show up for them.
Bring the family. Find a spot along the route. Wave, cheer, and help us make some memories.

Wyatt fired an impressive 79 yesterday at the IHSA Class 1A Macon (Meridian) Regional, earning himself a spot in the Class 1A Sectional!
He will compete Monday, October 5, at the University of Illinois Orange Course in Urbana. Congratulations, Wyatt, and best of luck as you continue your postseason run!
We also want to recognize the rest of our boys' golf team for their hard work, commitment, and effort throughout the season. We are proud of the way these Hawks have represented Meridian!

Our girls wrapped up their season today with a great day at the IHSA Regional at Meadowview Golf Course in Mattoon.
We’re proud of these ladies and the effort, improvement, and commitment they showed throughout the season. Thank you for representing Meridian Athletics with pride!

Our football team improved to 6-0 on the season with a win over Unity Christian last night!
Now we turn our attention to Homecoming Week as we welcome Pawnee to town next Saturday, October 3rd, for an 11:00 AM kickoff.

A special group of Meridian athletes came together today, and wanted to mix them together for a reason.
Both our softball and baseball teams made it to their Regional Championship games this Fall season. While neither team came away with the championship, both teams competed in high-stakes games and gave themselves a good chance to win.
These are some of the experiences we hope our student/athletes carry with them. The next time they find themselves in a big game, a big moment, a new activity, or a challenging situation in life, they can look back and know they have been there before. They know what it feels like to show up, compete, handle the pressure, and give their best.
This picture is just a small sample of the great kids and teams we have at Meridian. We are proud of every one of them and everything they have accomplished. (Unfortunately we were not able to catch each player for the pic.)

We are proud to recognize our very own Ridgley Downs and WL’s Carson Moore, who were each selected to receive the IESA Regional Sportsmanship Pin following Wednesday’s regional championship game.
The IESA Sportsmanship Pin recognizes athletes who demonstrate a positive attitude toward teammates, opponents, and officials, give their very best effort, show respect for officials, display positive body language, and help elevate the play and behavior of those around them.
Congratulations to Ridgley and Carson on this well-deserved recognition! We are proud to see our athletes represent Meridian with class and sportsmanship.

This time, Joe Strohkirch and Keaton Arndt took 3rd place in yesterday’s Macon County Bass Fishing Tournament!
We are so proud of these two and all the hard work they continue to put in.
Special thanks to Coach Ralston and boat captain Devin Arndt for helping put these boys in spots to be successful.

After 33 years of service to the Meridian School District, Mr. Hurelbrink is retiring at the end of the year. As such, we are accepting applications for the high school principal position, which will begin with the 2027-2028 school year.
