Yesterday was a great day to be a Hawk! Seth Ralston obliterated two meet records in the 110 hurdles and the 300 hurdles.

We also had first place finishes in the Long Jump (Drew Smithers), Triple Jump (Tristan Ziemer), and the High Jump (Ethan Long)!! We also had points spread across the board in the throws and the running events to where we were able to come home with a 1st place finish in the whole meet for the boys.

Great work Track Team!!

Ted Jones--Monmouth College, Baseball

Both the boys and girls performed well at last night's track meet in Monticello. Many personal bests.

Tristan Ziemer is only 3 inches away from his State Qualifying Triple Jump distance. Go get it Tristian!

Keaton Arndt, Joe Strohkirch, Seth Ralston, and Colt Green took to the water this weekend in two different tournaments. Keaton came away with a 5.5 lb Bass.

We have some great news coming out of the soccer world. Meridian's Molly Burgess broke the season assist record in last night's game vs Urbana Uni High. She set the old record last year with 8. Currently, she has recorded 10. She still has half the season left to strengthen her record. Good job Molly! Keep it up!!

Additionally, the soccer team broke the single season goal record last night by netting their 47th goal as a team. Great job soccer team! Keep it up!!

Tonight's HS softball game vs St. T. has been postponed.

Here are some of the highlights of last night's track meet.

The Meridian Softball team continues to produce not only wins, but awesome memories as this 2026 Spring season continues.

Last night, senior pitcher Ashley Schelling threw a PERFECT GAME! In 5-innings pitched she did not give up a run, hit, OR walk as she led the team to a 12-0 win over Tuscola. She stuck out 12 batters which meant her defense only needed to produce 3 outs. This is fantastic news for Ashely and our softball team who improved their record to 11-3.

They were not all home games, but Meridian still came up with the Tuesday Trifecta!

Additionally, the track team had a great showing at the MF track Meet.

This past weekend vs Pana, Sophomore, Morgan Knierim had an impressive game. She hit for the cycle which means her offensive game included a homerun, triple, double, and single. In fact, she hit 2 singles. That is impressive. Keep up the great work today Morgan and the rest of the softball team as you take on Tuscola.

Both the baseball and softball teams are in Tuscola tonight. Both games start at 4:30.
