11 days! Holy cow 11 days until kids get to join us in our new facility. So much work has been accomplished over the last four weeks getting this facility ready for our kids. Here is a preview of the facility.

Meridian Athletics – Fall 2026 Key Dates & Events
As we prepare for an exciting fall season, we are proud to share important dates and events across Meridian Athletics. We encourage our entire community to come out, support our student-athletes, and be part of a great season.
Green & White Night – Friday, August 14 (6:00 PM)
Join us for one of Meridian’s proud traditions as we officially kick off the fall athletic season.
• Fall program introductions begin at 6:00 PM on the football field and will include youth programs, middle school teams, and high school teams.
• Our Marching Band will be introduced and perform as part of the evening.
• A full group picture will take place following introductions.
• Following the ceremony:
– Football will begin warmups
– Soccer and Volleyball will each hold a 20-minute scrimmage
• Concessions will be open — come hungry and enjoy the evening.
• A selection of older Meridian athletic uniforms will be available for purchase near the concession stand.
We look forward to continuing to build this into a strong community tradition.

K-5 Meet the Teacher Night
School registration is now open online for returning students through TeacherEase. When using the app, you will be prompted to register your students after logging in. If you have any questions, please reach out to the building office.
Registration for new students will take place in person on Wednesday, August 5 from 8:00 - 3:00 p.m. All students (grades k - 12) will register in Macon. Please enter through the Meridian Middle School doors.

Meridian has a couple of employment opportunities!
The menu for day three consisted of an Italian marinated roasted chicken sandwich, Salisbury steak, mashed potatoes, macaroni amd cheese, steamed broccoli, cornbread, blueberry muffins, and a remake of yesterday's chicken strips with some additional seasoning!
Today's menu for the food service training was french toast casserole, chicken strips, chicken caesar salad wrap, tomato soup, blueberry muffins, stir fry veggies, salad (with house made dressing), and fresh fruit!
Our food service staff started a four day scratch cooking training today with the Sustainable Food Institute. They did a phenomenal job with the first day's menu! Spaghetti with scratch made meat sauce, house made alfredo, roasted zucchini and green beans, fruit, salad with house made dressings, and a peach crisp that was to die for. As we are rolling this out, our goal is to transition from frozen heat and serve foods to locally sourced scratch made fresh foods.

Due to the extreme heat warning, today’s tryout will take place in the high school gym. Times will remain the same (3–5 PM).
All athletes need to wear tennis shoes and softball pants, and bring their own face mask and glove. Please enter from the high school side.
If your physical has been updated since last year, and have not turned it in yet, you must bring a copy with you before practice. If you would prefer, you can send an electronic copy to brittonb@meridianhawks.net.
